Curriculum
at Daniel Elementary

In concert with the Kent School District Board goal of "Increasing Academic Achievement," our school has recently undergone a complete and thorough restructuring and reorganization of our system. We very successfully completed our Self Study Accreditation with Washington State and have designed a "Community School." Our very professional staff continues to refine their knowledge and instructional skills in the following areas:

The instructional materials and assessment strategies are very thoughtfully selected and integrated into our curriculum so that your child has the opportunity for outstanding learning excellence.

At Daniel, we also have the:

Kindergarten Academic Intervention
The Kindergarten Academic Intervention (KAI) program provides an extended school day for some kindergarten students in Title One schools. Children selected for the program are those most in need of additional learning opportunities, especially in literacy and numeracy, to prepare them to be successful students.

Accelerated Learning Club
In an effort to assist students in grades 1 through 6, we have an after school program. It is called the "Accelerated Learning Club" because students who need this assistance are behind in their studies and/or are achieving below grade level. They need to "speed up" their skill development in order to be successful this year, and well prepared for the future. The ALC is every Monday through Thursday from 2:45 to 3:45 PM in the library.
