Our Mission

Daniel Elementary is a community school dedicated to preparing all of its members for successful lifelong learning in a nurturing, caring, and safe environment.

Guidelines to Success

Student Rights and Responsibilities

The Daniel Elementary staff recognizes the importance of rights and responsibilities. They help us provide a safe, nurturing, and productive learning environment for all our students. We strongly recommend that parents/guardians assist in helping their student understand the following statements:

Attendance and Early Release

Good attendance is important for school success. The Kent School District recognizes regular punctual attendance as an essential for satisfactory school progress. It is also important that children come to school on time. When they arrive late, they not only interrupt the class, but they also miss lunch count, they miss directions, and they miss important classroom instruction. Students arriving late must report first to the office for an admittance pass.

Daniel Elementary participates in the Safe Arrival Program. We ask that when your student is going to be absent or late for school, you call the office by 8:00 AM. Also available between the hours of 3:00 PM and 7:00 AM daily, is Daniel Elementary's answering machine to take your phone calls to report absences or late arrivals. If we do not hear from you, we will call at home or work to verify your student's absence from school. This program assures us of your child's safety.

If it is necessary to pick your child up during school hours, please come to the office, sign out your child, and be prepared to show photo identification. For the safety of our children, students may only be released to persons noted on the emergency card.
